Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 2025

Koinonia ("we", "us", or "our") is a private community prayer app. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Koinonia mobile application.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information you provide directly when you create an account or use the app:

2. How We Use Your Information

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.

Prayer content you mark as private is visible only to you. Content you share to a group is visible to members of that group. AI features use your prayer content to generate personalized prayers; this content is sent to our AI provider (OpenAI) solely for this purpose.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen within the app. Deleting your account permanently removes your personal information, prayers, and group data from our systems. Some anonymized or de-identified data may be retained in backups for a limited period.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access-controlled databases. No system is 100% secure; please use a strong password and keep it confidential.

6. Children's Privacy

Koinonia is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
